Is the Steens Mt. Loop Road open?
Steens Mt. Loop Road is scheduled to open in July, 2025. You can see a map of the loop road, with expected dates of gate openings marked here.

Is there fuel in town?
From Mid-April through October there will be fuel available at the Frenchglen Mercantile. The other closest places to fuel up are the Narrows (35 mi. North) and Fields Station (52 mi. South.)

Are pets allowed?
Pets are allowed in Drover’s Inn, there is a $30 pet fee good for the length of your stay. Dogs are allowed on park grounds with a leash on at all times. Pets are not allowed in the Historic Frenchglen Hotel.

Do you offer EV charging?
We do not have a charging station on site. We do have a NEMA 14-30 outlet rated for 30 amps that hotel guests can reserve for use. We do not have any adapters, or extension cords for this outlet, guests must arrive with appropriate equipment. As with fuel, we suggest you recharge in Hines.

Can we eat at your restaurant without being guests?
We serve breakfast daily from 7:30-9:30am, and lunch Sunday-Thursday from Noon-2pm, these hours are open to the public. Dinner is served family-style every night at 6:30 sharp, by reservation only. We give hotel guests priority for dinner reservations but open up reservations to the public two-weeks in advance. Please call us at 541-493-2825 to make a non-guest dinner reservation, within two weeks of the day you wish to join us. Hotel guests will have the opportunity to book dinner reservations with their online booking.

We do have WIFI
We do not have TV’s, and we do not have coffee pots, mini-fridges, or microwaves in the rooms.
There is coffee service starting 30 minutes before breakfast in the main dining room.
There is no space in the rooms for a cot, sofa, or pull-out.
Mosquitos get quite bad in Frenchglen from the end of May to the beginning of August.
You may bring wine to dinner, we charge a $10 corkage fee.
